A Green Deal for Africa?
The future of Africas Economy was the topic at the African Economic Conference in Addis Abeba. In view of the economic growth of the past decade but also the challenges climate change poses for African societies many participants are urging the development of a “Green Economy” on the continent. The African Development Bank has proposed a $ 100 billion plan for an “Africa Green Fund”. The fund is to help investments in renewable energy projects and sustainable use of natural resources.
