For all those ambitious musicians out there, she – in person – represents a shining sign of hope: Irma, born in 1988 in Douala, Cameroon is heading to become a true African super star.

Six years ago, Irma Pari published a song on youtube, a little click that should trigger off her career with a constantly growing audience of enchanted fans all over the world. Soon, the head of a french record company took notice of that talented student, and in 2011 her debut album “Letter to the Lord” was released.

The song “I know” from her debut release entered the french single charts up to #2. Last year, Irma was a nominee for the MTV Europe Music Award as “best french act”. Her album reached platinum status.

Lately, Irma was signed by an even bigger label, for which she is looking forward to touring the US. She has entered the stage with congolese/french rap star Youssoupha Mabiki, impressed TV5 with a live performance of “Alors On Danse” and shared the studio with hip hop heavyweight will.I.am, founding member of the Black Eyed Peas. Looking at her mastering guitar, sampler and voice with inspiring ingenuity, it seems to be inevitable: Irma will be Africa’s next super star of world music.
