Muammar Gaddafi killed in his hometown Sirte

 According to Al-Jazeera Colonel Ahmed Bani, the military spokesman of the National Transition Council (NTC) in Libya confirmed the death of Muammar Gaddafi. After he had been captured by rebel fighters near his hometown Sirte he died of his wounds.

We announce to the world that Gaddafi has been killed at the hands of the revolution. It is an historic moment. It is the end of tyranny and dictatorship. Gaddafi has met his fate. – Abdel Hafez Ghoga, NTC official to AFP –
