“Why did Gaddafi have to die?”
The controversial death of Muammar Gaddafi is a topic for debate for the readers of The East African. In the letters to the editors several express their criticism of the Libyan National Transitional Council, the NATO and Western governments. They argue that Western goverments stand to gain from the death of Gaddafi therefore facilitating his demise. Libya’s future lies now in the hand of oil-hungry western countries and any good that Gaddafi has done for his country has been destroyed in the war, they say.
